Dr Donnacha Ó Beacháin

Dr Ó Beacháin lectures on post-Soviet politics and Irish foreign policy. He currently leads a research project on the role of the OSCE and EU in the post-Soviet “frozen conflicts”. He has produced several reports on post-Soviet protracted conflicts and organised a major international conference at DCU in 2012. Previously, between 2000 and 2005, he held fellowships in Georgia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. During this time he organised numerous international academic events, particularly in the sphere of conflict resolution. Recent co-edited books include The Colour Revolutions in the Former Soviet Republics: Successes and Failures (Routledge, 2010), and Life in Post-Communist Eastern Europe after EU Membership (Routledge, 2012).
